Florida Man Charged After TSA Finds Gun in His Carry-on

CHEEKTOWAGA, NY-- A Florida man headed to Tampa was stopped by the TSA?at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport security checkpoint after officers discovered a handgun in his carry-on.

Officers noticed the gun as the bag went through the x-ray machine.

The NFTA Police was notified.?They confiscated the loaded handgun and the man was arrested on a weapons charge.?

"TSA screens approximately 9,000 passengers and their carry-on bags each day, and our TSA officers remain focused on threats to the flying public," said Derek "Rick" DePietro, TSA's Federal Security Director at the airport in a released statement.
