Study: Florida leads for new restaurants

Florida led the country in restaurant unit growth in 2012.

Florida added a net 1,751 eating and drinking place establishments in 2012, while California added a net 1,721 units, a National Restaurant Association analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data showed.

Other than Florida, California and Texas, which added 1,296 restaurant establishments in 2012, no other states registered growth in excess of 1,000 units.
