If we want to be able to look ourselves in the mirror in the morning with any state that we need to support for geopolitical reasons, our goal should be to have at least two viable pro-democracy forces that can rotate in and out of power. Even for those who are Morsi fans of his commitment to democracy, what's the 2nd viable force? This is yet another area in which there is no discernable difference between the Dems and the GOP. That's not a good thing for either the country or the future of the GOP. Well, if the GOP even has a future, which is something I doubt more and more with each passing day.
